Growing conditions:
Perfect! 2013 had great growing conditions, with minimal April frost, warm days/cool nights in July and August then a full Indian summer in mid-September. Vineyard yields were normal despite low winter rainfall while quality appears excellent due to small berry size.

Winemaking:
The grapes were hand harvested, then whole cluster pressed while still cool. Barrel fermented in 100% new French oak barrels, the wine was aged on its lees passively for 6 months. This process produced a richer mouthfeel and allowed the wine to be bottled with minimal filtration.

Tasting notes:
Aromas of Pippin apple and ripe pear are intertwined with elusive hints of nectarine in the background. Rich, silky mouthfeel from over 6 months of passive lees contact in new French oak barrels culminates with a long, crisp, elegant finish.

Cellaring:
Drink now!! This Chardonnay will continue to improve with proper cellaring for another 18-36 months, but why wait??

Food selection:
This Chardonnay will enhance artisan cheeses, pastas in creamy white sauces, shrimp, halibut and a multitude of poultry dishes.
